About Queen Elizabeth High School
Queen Elizabeth High School is a 13-18 all ability rural academy that can trace its roots to 1599 when Queen Elizabeth granted a charter to the people of Hexham to educate its young people. It offers a broad and comprehensive curriculum to students, many of whom stay on into the Sixth Form as a progression route. The school has long been recognised as a destination school for students wishing to excel academically and to develop their sporting and creative talents.
