Forum Cinema Hexham / Sunday 20th March

Selection of short films by Alice Guy-Blache.
Everyone who has bought a ticket to either Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blache or Short Films by Alice Guy-Blache will be entered into a raffle to win an Alice Guy-Blache t-shirt from Girls on Tops!
From 1896 to 1906 Alice Guy-Blaché was probably the only woman film director in the world. A filmmaking pioneer, she went on to make films in Hollywood up until the 1920s, when she returned to France and was seemingly erased from cinema history.
We’re shining a light on her career with a selection of her finest films including: Falling Leaves (1912), The Little Rangers (1912) and The Ocean Waif (1916).
Make it a double bill with Forum Cinema Hexham’s screening of Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché at 16:45.
We will be screening a short animation made by the Young Women's Film Academy for this year's International Women's Day #BreakTheBias campaign before the film. The YWFA is a North East based charity led by women which focuses on improving the well-being of girls and young women while providing them with film making skills.
